Aramco Sports Championships – Golf – Individual Net Competition

Eligibility

Only Direct Saudi Aramco employees, dependents, or retirees with an official club handicap.

Competition Format:

The Individual Net Competition is a stroke play event where each player's total score (gross score) is adjusted by their handicap to determine their net score. The player with the lowest net score is the winner.  There is both a Men's and Ladies Division.

Handicap:

  • For men’s and ladies, the maximum handicap allowance is 36.
  • 75% of handicap will be used for play.

Scoring Method:

  • Each player records their gross score (actual strokes taken) for each hole.
  • The player’s course handicap is subtracted from their total gross score to determine their net score.
  • The lowest net score wins.

Example Calculation:

  • Player A’s total gross score: 90
  • Player A’s handicap: 15
  • Player A’s net score: 90 – 15 = 75

Tee Selection:

  • Men’s: White
  • Ladies: Red

Rules:

  • The competition is played under the Rules of Golf as set by the R&A and USGA, along with local club rules.
  • Players must putt out on every hole - no "gimme" putts.
  • If a player fails to complete a hole, they will be disqualified from the competition.

Tiebreaker:

In the event of a tie, the following countback method will be used:

  1. Best last 9 holes (holes 10–18 nett score).
  2. If still tied, best last 6 holes (holes 13–18).
  3. If still tied, best last 3 holes (holes 16–18).
  4. If still tied, best score on the last hole (hole 18).

Pace of Play:

  • Players must maintain a steady pace of play and keep up with the group ahead.

Prizes & Awards:

  • Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers based on the lowest nett scores.
  • Prize giving will be held at a later stage during the Aramco Sports Championships closing ceremony on April 25th at Al-Midra Complex.

Scorecard Submission:

  • Scoring will be done digitally via the Golf Genius App.  Sign in with your GGID to do the scoring (not your email). All players/markers must certify after the round - those that do not certify will be disqualified.
    • Please note that you can modify Marker Options from the menu should someone in your Group not show up so scoring can be done during the round via Golf Genius.
    • If you don't know how to use the App, you can watch a tutorial here.
  • If you are not able to use the GG App for any reason, a manual scorecard must be used.  Players must submit their signed and attested scorecards immediately after their round.
    • Manual scorecards must be verified and signed by both the player and their marker.
